After five days of WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, Kevin Kisner wins the 2019 Dell Technologies Championship in Austin, Texas!

Whether you're a golf lover, socialite or a curious by-stander, the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play brings a week of memorable conversations, great food and smooth spirits, oh! and golf to Texas.

As the PGA Tour made its way to the Lone Star State, I knew this was an event that I had to be part of; and I must say...they did not disappoint.

From the elegant transportation for the media and attendees, to the polite and well-dressed concierge, this event truly set the standard for the c'est la bonne vie (the good life).

While, this was my first time attending the Dell  Technologies Match Play, I am no stranger to golf.  Which makes me question my shoe selection.  I wore a cute pair of Michael Kors flats, which at the time seemed a great choice, but next year I think I will sport a nice logical pair of tennis shoes; that's a much better me.  Why?  If you plan to walk the course, you better be comfortable.  The course boasts many hills and it's a definite workout.

However,  I will say'll enjoy the trees that cover the front nine, beautiful hills and well-placed rocks.  The entire course will have you snapping pictures and taking in the spectacular views of the Austin countryside.

There was plenty of golf and socializing going on!  Yes of course, I see why this event is not only highly anticipated, but it's one of the most elite and exciting tournaments on the PGA Tour.  Even if you're a people watcher, there was plenty to see, including a field of star-studded players like Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy,  Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm and Bubba name a few.

If you plan on attending this spring fling next year, I highly recommend you book your travel in advance because the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play sells out quickly.  Make sure your royal par-gyle golf pants are ironed, your shirt is tucked in and your belt sets the tone for the outfit.  This is not an event for you to pull out your favorite pair of's way bigger than that.

Through all this fun and excitement, we cannot forget the mission of Dell Technologies Match Play; "Advancing human progress through health, wellness, resiliency and academic achievement."  As a title sponsor, Dell Technologies has generated over $3.1 million to charities in the Austin and Boston areas.   Dell Technologies Match Play has generated more than $18 million for charity since its inception (including past locations and title sponsors), part of the more than $60 million raised for global charities since the advent of the World Golf Championships series in 1999. I am sure you may be curious about the great food and smooth spirits I mentioned previously...well let me tell you - The PGA Tour would never bring a golf tournament to Texas without BBQ on the menu...and they brought it!

The homestyle flavor of Micklethwait Craft Meats and New York Style Delicatessen set the mood immediately.  This is the moment your fingers get down and dirty.  In Texas we eat BBQ with our fingers and a small napkin to dab the juices that flow from our tenderloins.

What about Taco Tuesday?  Gotcha covered! Torchy's Taco was on hand to indulge the taco enthusiasts with their off the tee box, weird things inside, folded taco.  That means delicious tacos for you non-Texans.

Also available for your enjoyment was New Bacon Me Crazy Stand, Mighty Cone, Ranch Hand Organic Bowls and Amy's Ice Creams.  I also was made aware that for those of us with restrictive diets or food allergies we could bring our own food as long as it was in a 1-gallon, clear plastic bag.  Now who does that?  Texans just eat and enjoy whatever is on the menu.

This will be quick, because the Grey Goose 19th Hole Lounge had a surprise.  We were treated with a Dell Technologies Match Play signature cocktail, strategically named “The Pennybacker Press” and it was served in the tournament’s signature Yeti Cup.  This drink left some floored...literally.  'Nuf said about that.  Want the recipe?  Here you go...drink responsibly:

"The Pennybacker Presser"
(10oz glass)
1.25oz Grey Goose Le Melon
.25oz Monin Lemongrass Syrup
2 parts Soda
1 part Sprite

We can chat for days about what you missed out on, but we're not; you had to be there to believe it.  See ya in 2020.
